Who We Serve
Established in 1991, the Lincoln High School Foundation is an independent, nonprofit 501 (c)3 California organization. Our mission is to support academic and enrichment programs that benefit and enable all students to succeed and excel, thus ensuring quality public education for today’s and tomorrow’s students. The Lincoln High School Foundation is the oldest, independent foundation in San Jose Unified School District.
The Foundation was established and was formed by a group of committed alumni and principal who recognized that school resources needed to be augmented to create the best possible environment for student success. This included:
- Providing teaching tools like scientific equipment
- Up-to-date books and teaching materials
- Physical plant–like black box theatre
- Transformed an outdated boiler room to a dance studio with high tech sprung dance floor
- New flooring in the small gym to cover the injury producing cement floor
- And founding a mentoring program to work with and encourage at-risk youth to strive for academic and success that would propel them forward to maximize their career and educational options
The Foundation’s support has contributed to creating an environment of excellence that has been recognized with numerous national, state, regional, and local awards. Since its founding, the Foundation has raised over $1.5 million in restricted and unrestricted funds to support programs at Lincoln High School that enrich the student population and campus culture.
The Foundation seeks private philanthropic support for school needs that would otherwise go unaddressed due to a lack of funding from traditional public school funding sources. Funds are restricted for use at Lincoln High School only.
Get Involved
You can make a difference by getting involved with the Foundation and/or by making a generous contribution. Please make your contribution check payable to Lincoln High School Foundation and mail it the Lincoln High School Foundation, 555 Dana Avenue, San Jose, CA 95126. Donations are tax deductible and funds are restricted for use at Lincoln High School only.
The Foundation hosts a variety of events throughout the academic year to raise much needed funds to finance special programs, the pantry, awards for classified employees and teachers, classroom grants, scholarships, and building capitalization projects to name but a few. We encourage you to participate these highly popular events.
Another way of providing your financial support to Lincoln is through The Donor Wall. It was built in 2011 and is updated every two to three years to add donors contributing $1,000+ in a single contribution. There are different space sizes based on the amount donated. The Donor Wall Campaign offers $500 spaces that are allocated around the border of the wall and are made available to individual contributors, class reunions, and senior class parents to honor their graduate. You can learn more about the Donor Legacy Wall, monthly giving options, estate bequest/planned gifts by visiting our Donate page.
Additionally, we welcome you to join us as a volunteer as we have many volunteer opportunities available, including serving as a volunteer mentor in our Future Vision Mentoring Program. About Us
A microcosm of the culturally and economically diverse Silicon Valley, Lincoln High School is devoted to preparing its students for work, society and the global economy of the 21st century. In support of this effort, the Foundation was created and is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents, alumni, teachers, staff, and other interested community leaders. Since its founding, the Foundation has raised over $1.5 million to support numerous programs and endeavors that have enriched the student population and campus culture.
It has also been recognized for its stellar work, including being honored with the “Outstanding Citizens” award by the Mayor and City of San Jose. We proudly invite you to meet Our Board.
While our board manages the oversight and activities of the Foundation, our donors are what make the difference. Our donors are the backbone of the Foundation’s success over the years and enable the organization to be sustainable through changes in our economic times.
We invite you to visit our Donors page and view the list of those who generously give year after year. We hope to include your name on our list of supporters.
We invite you to stay abreast of what is happening at Lincoln High School. You may do so by visiting our Announcements page where you can stay atop of upcoming events and news pertinent to the school, its students, and of course, the Foundation.

Donate
The Foundation relies on monetary contributions from our generous donors. Your financial contribution makes a difference in the lives of our students, educators and staff, and the Lincoln community. We invite you to donate today and may easily do so by visiting our Donate page.
Whatever amount you can best afford today will be gratefully appreciated. As a reminder, donations are tax deductible and funds are restricted for use at Lincoln High School only.
Additionally, we encourage you to donate your time, particularly as a volunteer mentor in our Future Vision Mentoring Program. One of our programs that truly sets us apart from other school foundations is the Future Vision Mentoring Program. This program was established in 1993 to provide at-risk, mostly low income and minority students with volunteer adult mentors who provide them with the guidance and inspiration necessary to keep them on track and remain excited about creating successful futures.
The mentoring program assists mentees with goal setting, time management, prioritization, exposure to career development, interview techniques, resume writing, and building team camaraderie. The mentor meets, at a minimum, monthly with the group and can schedule individual meetings as well. There are other opportunities also available for you to get involved with the Foundation and Lincoln High School. We invite you to explore the opportunities to volunteer your time or services by visiting our Volunteer application page.
